The days roll into weeks, which roll into months as life whizzes past at a hectic pace. The head spins and struggles to settle into any thought pattern. So much to process, so much happening.
From personal experience, when life is busy, it is so easy to let God drop off the radar. To miss those God moments of life, to forget just how amazingly blessed we are to be called children of God. Instead, we are so wrapped up in a world that promises much and delivers little.
When I lose sight of God, I lose myself. I slide into the overwhelm, anxiety and stress which robs me of the joy that life should be. This world is full of fake promises. There may be a level of satisfaction for a period of time but it is not sustainable. We give up long term joy for short term gain.
In John 10v10, we are told that the thief comes to steal and destroy while Christ came that we can experience life and have it abundantly. When it comes to life, I don't want anything less than abundant. I am not about just stumbling through and feeling as thought life is a chore. I want abundant living.
God is the positive force that propels us forward into hope and joy. He draws us closer into a destiny of peace-filled promises. It is God who gives to us the hope of an abundant life that can only be found in him. I remind myself every day to focus on Christ and not what this world offers, regardless of how tempting. For I know that while the world offer may be attractive, it won't last. All that I need and all that I am is in Christ. The one who gives abundance, brings hope and fills my world to the point where it is overflowing.
